Anonymous crash reports only
Awlak Benjah? is a grade tracker made by Hadi Hijazi. It is built so that your grades never leave your phone. This page explains what that means for the app and for this website.
What the app stores
The degrees, semesters, courses and grades you enter, and your preferences (language, appearance and table layout), are saved in a database on your device. That is the only place they are kept.
The home screen widget
On iPhone, the app offers a home screen widget. It is optional and appears only if you add it. It shows your active degree's name, its projected average and status, and how many of its courses are passed, compensated or failing, with an Enter grades button that opens the app.
To keep it current, the app saves those figures in storage on your device that it shares with its widget (an App Group). This copy never leaves your device, and it is kept even when the widget is not on your home screen. Settings › Reset all data clears it, and the widget goes back to asking you to set up your degree. Uninstalling the app deletes it.
What we collect
Nothing you enter. The app has no account, no sign-in and no server of ours behind it. It sends no analytics and no advertising identifiers, and it contains no tracking or advertising code. We cannot see your grades, and nobody else can through us. The only thing the app sends is a crash report, described below.
The app works without an internet connection.
Crash reports
When the app crashes or hits an error, it sends a crash report so that we can fix the problem. A report contains the technical details of the error (the stack trace and the part of the app where it happened), your device model, its operating system and version, the app's version, and similar diagnostics such as free memory and whether the app was in the foreground. The app also reports, once per launch, whether that launch ended in a crash, so that we can measure how stable each version is.
A report never contains your grades, the names of your degrees, semesters or courses, or anything else you typed. The app has no account, so a report is not linked to you. It may carry a random identifier created when the app was installed, used only to count how many installations a crash affects. Your IP address is not stored.
Reports are received by Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.), which processes them on our behalf, as a processor, in its EU data region in Germany. Sentry keeps a report for at most 90 days, then deletes it.
Crash reports are on by default. To turn them off, go to Settings › Send crash reports: the app stops sending at once. If you turn them back on, they resume the next time you open the app.
Backups
If your device backs up its apps to iCloud or Google, those backups can include the app's data, under your device settings and Apple's or Google's terms. We have no access to them.
Deleting your data
Settings › Reset all data deletes every degree, semester, course and grade in the app at once. Uninstalling the app deletes everything it stored.
Children
The app is made for students in higher education. It is not directed at children under 13, and it collects no personal data from anyone: crash reports carry nothing that identifies who uses the app.
This website
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. It is served by Cloudflare, which processes technical request data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect it.
If you write to us from the contact section, your email app sends the message. We use your address and message only to reply, and delete them once they are no longer needed.
The web demo keeps the degree and grades you enter in this browser's storage until you reset the demo or clear the site's data. Nothing you enter is sent anywhere.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is posted on this page with its date.
